New Rules
*All posts must be at least two, full paragraphs.
*Use a celebrity who looks the age of your character. Do not use the "now" Johnny Depp as a student for he is clearly no longer that young. You are allowed, however, to use younger pictures of an older celebrity to portray a younger character.
*After your application is accepted, the celebrity you listed will immediately be added to the list of taken celebrities.
*Until your application is officially accepted, the celebrity you have listed will be up for grabs. For example, let's say you submit a character who has "Joe Bob" as the celebrity and your application still needs work. So, it is not accepted. But, soon after, another person submits an application that is suitable and has "Joe Bob" as their celebrity, then they will get him and you will be forced to change your celebrity choice.
*Celeb Claims are a first come, first serve basis.
*You will no longer choose your house. Admin will pick it, and do not try to force a house. Putting things like 'loyal like a Hufflepuff', or 'cunning and greedy and maniuplative' is a bit obvious. Don't do it.
General
* Listen to Professors/people of higher rank than you.
* Be friendly with your fellow players.
* USE SPELL CHECK.
* Please be sure to use good grammar.
* NO God-moding. (Controlling what other players do)
*DO NOT reply to any thread in the 'Old Threads' board. If a current thread was put there by accident, message an admin to move it back for you.
*Put your characters in your signature. Include name, house, gender, and if they have any special things.
E.X.: Draco Malfoy/Male/Slytherin/Prefect
E.X.: Sirius Black/Male/OOP
E.X.: Severus Snape/Male/Potions Professor
* Please use one of your house colors for your font in your posts. It will help distinguish you. Professors may use any color other than house colors. (Therefore, no maroon, yellow, green, or blue.)
Creating Characters
* Characters from the book are, of course, allowed.
* Professors/Headmaster must be a relatively good Rper.
* Stick to the personality of your character. Snape isn't going to go around dancing and hugging people, and the Malfoys aren't going to be nice to Potter and friends. If you created your own character, stick to what you wrote.
* Please DO NOT make a relative to a character in the books that isn't there. No daughters, sisters, brothers, etc.
* No more than two professors, but students and 'other' are unlimited. AS LONG AS YOU ARE ACTIVE WITH EACH ONE!
* Wait for your character to be accepted BEFORE you begin to RP. It shouldn't take long.
Role-Playing
* When issued detention, post a thread for your character in the detention board. The professor you serve with is the one who assigned it to you unless they state otherwise. You CANNOT post in any other threads, even active ones, until you are dismissed by the professor in your detention. This will be monitored and you will get a message if you do this. Professors: you cannot keep the student an excessively long time to keep them from posting. 4-8 posts should do it.
* Spinner's End is only for Snape/invited guests; and Malfoy Manor is only for Malfoys/invited guest, and the same applies to The Burrow being for Weasleys/invited guests and Number 12 Grimmauld Place for Order Members and Blacks/invited guests.
Quidditch
* In a Quidditch game, each player must post at least twice, and the posts go back and forth between houses.
E.X.: Ravenclaw Player A, Slytherin Player A. Ravenclaw Player B, Slytherin Player B.
* Quidditch teams must have all players before a game may be played. Their places on the team must be part of your signature.
E.X.: Harry Potter/Male/Gryffindor/Seeker
* Quidditch Captains must talk to their team in a thread located in the dormitories about practice. There has to be at least one practice thread for a team before any games will be scheduled.(by the admin) Practices and games will be held in the Quidditch Pitch, under a thread of the appropriate title.
Taming
*All people wishing to join the Taming Club must first speak to the manager in his/her office.
*The creatures are played by chosen people. You must NOT say what your creatures do.
EX:: Rose put her hand out, moving in the indicated way over her dog's head. She looked into his eyes, hoping he would do as she asked.
NOT:: Rose put her hand out, moving in the indicated way over the dog's head. The dog did the trick perfectly.
*If you are accepted, the manager will take you to the barn and show you your assigned creature. This is true of every time you advance, as well. You do not pick your creature on your own.
*The manager must be with you at all times in a ring.
*You will be performing in the show ring with your creature when the manager tells you you may, and if all is successful then you will be moved to the next ring.
*You will train every creature in each ring before you are able to move on, but you will be able to chose which of them you take to the show ring.
*First Ring creatures: Dogs, servals, and falcons.
*Second Ring creatures: Hippogriffs, threstrals, and unicorns.
*Third Ring creatures: Dragons.
